I grew up just outside of New York City. In July of 2001, I embarked on a remarkable journey, a five-month and five-day southbound thru-hike of the Appalachian Trail.
Upon completing the 2,170 mile hike, I moved back to New York and currently serve as the Deputy Executive Director for the New York-New Jersey Trail Conference.
As a hiker and kayaker, I have always wanted to find a way to capture my experiences. Ironically, it wasn’t until I got married and had my first child that I was bitten by the photography bug.
Now that it’s nearly impossible to wake up at 3:00 am to sneak out to catch a morning sunrise over the Hudson River, this blog will serve as a journal to keep me focussed on improving my photography skills.
