As usual, my procrastination has gotten the best of me and the two posts that had been rolling around my head this week never got written. Nor did I finish the book that was due back at the library…or…well you get the picture.
I did manage to sit down for 15-minutes this evening and organize my garden for 2011. In addition to finalizing my seed purchase for this year’s garden, I will also attempt to start most of my own plants from seed this year. The CowPots have been ordered, plant light and seed starting mix procured. I went online and purchased Brandywine and Cherokee Purple heirloom tomatoes and a Johnny’s exclusive…Granaderos which will be used for sauce and salsa. I also picked out a Krimzon Lee sweet and hot pepper, some nice Romaine lettuce and Touchstone gold beets. Combined with the Dragon carrots, cauliflower, red onions and kale I have left over from last season and a squash plant or two…it looks like the makings of a great garden.
But wait…there’s more. One of my co-workers (who is not a procrastinator) produced a list of the 25 seeds he is planning on purchasing and has offered to share them the rest of us. So if all goes well, you can add some Carmen and Red Rocket peppers, basil, and Windsor Broccoli to the list of delectable’s.
Mind you, I’m not sure I can eat this much produce…but it will sure be fun growing it.
