scouting

As all the photography books tell you, be sure to scout your location before you show up to shoot. So in an attempt to follow some of these “best practices”, I took off to visit Dale cemetery yesterday afternoon. Without fail,   I managed to get lost and severely detoured while seeking the entrance to the Dale cemetery.

The good news is that I found a few great spots to photograph. Some I may even try to shoot just as the cemetery is closing at 4:30 if the light cooperates as the days get shorter.

But what I really want to do is shoot at night, in light of the full moon. My wife thinks its morbid…I think it will create some very dramatic images. So rather than sneak into the cemetery in the middle of the night, I am going to contact the cemetery and see if I can get permission.
